This collaborative effort is truly stunning. Superb light to medium bodied Chardonnay. It is peachy, citrussy and lightly tropical, with subtle nuances of honeysuckle and chalky minerality which brings great freshness while still having nice depth.

Critics Reviews
A blend of chardonnay from the sites they work with in the Santa Rita Hills, the majority coming from the Wenzlau Vineyard. Here they have a long-term lease and farm the vineyard ourselves using organic practices. Wenzlau sits on a steep, dramatic hillside across the Santa Ynez River river from the famed Sanford & Benedict Vineyard.
In the cellar the wine is a combination of barrel and tank fermentation using native yeast.
Racines is the exciting new project of talented young Santa Barbara winemaker Justin Willet in collaboration with pioneers of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir: Etienne de Montille and Brian Sieve of Domaine de Montille in Burgundy as well as Rodolphe Peters of Pierre Peters in Champagne.
