This case contains one bottle of each of the wines listed below.
Weinhof Waldschutz, Grüner Veltliner Fels am Wagram 2017, Austria – Vegan
Full, round and rich due to later harvest and six months on lees adding texture and body. Reminiscent of dried wild herbs with exotic aromas of mango and papaya and dark spices. Pair this lovely wine with hard spicy cheeses, strong hearty main dishes such as dark meat and veal, as well as strong fish dishes. Delicious with extreme ageing potential.
Domaine Marie-Pierre Chevassu, Chardonnay Sous Voile 2018, Jura, France –Organic, Natural/Low Sulphites, Vegan
Delicious, complex and layered Chardonnay from the Jura with aromas of apple, pear and quince. Similarly to Vin Jaune or Sherry, but softer, there is oxidative notes coming from 18 months ageing under flor (a layer of yeast), resulting in notes of fino sherry, toasted almonds and brioche. It cries out for some sharp and creamy Jura cheese or some roasted poultry.
Testalonga El Bandito Skin Contact Chenin 2019, South Africa –Organic, Natural/Low Sulphites, Vegan
A true skin contact, orange wine; rich, savoury and fascinating. Spends eight days on skins, giving the wine its texture. Full bruised apple aromas lead to a powerful, intense palate with citrus fruit, orange peel, peach notes and hints of nuts and dried flowers. Enjoy it on its own or with soft cheese, sea food or poultry.
Domaine de La Madone, Fleurie Vieilles Vignes 2018, France – Sustainable, Low Sulphites
From 75+ year-old vines, this Fleurie shows beautiful balance and fruit purity. Intense aromas of red currant, blueberry and flowers with delicate peppery notes. Best with lamb, pork and mild hard cheeses.
Markus Altenburger, Blaufränkisch vom Kalk 2018, Austria – Organic, Natural, Vegan
Made from Austria's indigenous variety, Blaufränkisch, the wine is aged on lees in large casks for 18 months. Showing black and blue fruits galore with some peppery freshness. Perfect for Northern Rhône Syrah fans looking for something a bit unusual. Ideal with roast lamb and all kind of stewed meats.
This unusual expression of Sangiovese is vibrant with fine tannins and a nice minerality, the wine is fresh and elegant – typical of amphora-ageing, and shows lifted aromas of red fruits, morello cherries and black cherries and a soft spicy finish.
