Chateau Les Croisilles Cahors Malbec - Terroir Duo
If you wonder how different terroirs affect a wine, this special box is made for you - showing two Malbecs from the same producer but coming from two different soils.
The Croisille family’s adventure began in 1979 when Cecile and Bernard rented an abandoned domaine on the Causses de Luzech terroir. They cleared the land and brought it back to life, gradually creating vineyard parcels in which the Malbec variety now reigns supreme.
Their son Germain joined them in 2008, followed by his childhood friend Nicolas in 2010 and lastly by Simon, who joined his family in 2015. The domaine now covers 30 hectares of vines and the younger generation have brought their passion for wine and fresh perspective on viticulture to the estate giving its wines new ambitions and a new lease of life.
This case contains one bottle of each of the wines listed below.
- Chateau Les Croisille, Cahors Silice 2020
From sandy, ferrous red clay soils. Aged for one year in old oak barrels.
Black plum, blueberry and black berry along with powerful tannins fill the palate on this sumptuous wine.
- Chateau Les Croisille, Cahors Calcaire 2019
From limestone and clay-limestone soils. Aged for 2 years in old barrels.
A fully expressive nose with ripe and candied black fruits, lots of black cherry and cocoa and a leathery note. The palate is brilliantly fresh with a soft chalkiness.
