Kew Big Winter Tasting

3 November 2015 by Ben

Our annual Big Winter Tasting is just around the corner on Sunday 15 November – and we’ll have even more wines open to taste than last year!  So if you’re looking for inspiration as we venture into the festive period then this event is a must.

We’ll be popping corks from noon and tasting all afternoon until six so plenty of opportunity to pay us a visit either before or after lunch.

Just to whet your appetite, here are some of the wines we will have open to taste…

What better way to start than with the latest 2009 vintage of our fabulous Gallimard Champagne.  Dominated  by Pinot Noir and aged for 5 years this is a wonderfully rich, creamy style of Champagne from a small grower estate.  We will also have the wonderful Roberto Sarotto Gavi di Gavi – bursting with peaches & pears backed up with stoney minerality.  In addition we’ll also have some old favourites such as the Fourcas Hosten 2007 – packed with cassis, cocoa and cedar wood – this is a classic Bordeaux from Listrac-Medoc.

We’re very excited to be showcasing many of the new additions which have graced our Argentinian range this year with some brilliant wines from top winemakers such as Susana Balbo and Benegas Lynch. Make sure you try the Benmarco Expresivo – a Bordeaux style blend made with fruit sourced from both the Lujan de Cuyo and Uco Valley areas of Mendoza.  We will also be opening the incredible Nine Popes by the legendary Charles Melton. The Grenache in the blend shows in the musky, strawberry perfume on the nose and combines with the smoky, earthy spice from the Mataro and Shiraz  – it’s a perfect wine for the winter months!

Everyone is welcome so if you plan on popping in to see us, let us know by email or by calling 0208 940 4482 so we have an idea about numbers.
