Clos Signadore Rouge, Patrimonio, Corsica, France, 2014

About this wine

The flagship red of the Clos Signadore estate is made from Nielluccio, a close relative of Sangiovese. Sourced exclusively from the 50+ year old vines in the 4 hectare Morta Piana vineyard, the wine spends 24 months in neutral demi muids before bottling. Dense, ripe fruit alongside attractive herbal notes and big, smooth tannic structure. A formidable yet fresh wine capable of ageing for many years. Farmed organically, fermented with native yeasts and with no additions other than a small amount of sulphur at bottling.
