EM Heritage, Edoardo Miroglio, Nova Zagora, Bulgaria, 2016

About this wine

There is nothing rustic about this pretty Pinot Noir with its silky cherry fruit, gentle spices and just a hint of the forest floor. It's light and supple, beautifully perfumed and elegant and tastes as though it ought be from somewhere in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune. This would be as happy with a seared fillet of Sea Bass as with a serious piece of chicken - a versatile and refreshing red perfect for warmer weather.

"Edoardo Miroglio is an Italian who clearly believes in the potential of Bulgarian wine, having invested tens of millions of euros in this winery. Early results – 2009 is the fifth vintage – are impressive. This has a real ring of class; strawberry and violet scented, it is elegant yet has depth and savoury complexity." Hamish Anderson in The Telegraph, 4th July 2013.
