This a blend of traditional Rhone grapes and Merlot sourced from the Vaucluse region. With Grenache at its heart, blended with some Syrah and Merlot this is a soft and approachably easy drinking red just lovely on its own – but just as enjoyable with food.

While this is the same blend of grapes as the Lesc, this wine has more ripe fruit and weight. Thoroughly enjoyable on its own (often used a party wine) it does however have enough staying power to take on fish, salads and light meat dishes.

A fruity and supple red made from Rioja’s most famous grape Tempranillo down in the La Mancha region of Spain. The wine’s vibrant, youthful and juicy red fruit flavours would work well with a meat curry - or a lamb shank.

This gutsy blend of Grechetto – the best grape for Orvieto – and Trebbiano is medium bodied and slightly creamy in texture and will cope perfectly with antipasti, pasta salads and risottos too. Better quality than a lot of so called Orvieto and much better value.

This slender land that forms the heel of the Italian boot vies with Sicily as the largest wine producer among the 20 Italian regions. Long noted as a source of blending wines, Puglia has recently begun to realize its enormous quality potential, switching the emphasis to dry, fruity whites and reds of notable character under the 25 D.O.C. appellations. A blend of Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera produces ripe stewed berry fruit, with plum & spice aromas and appealing ripe berries and red cherry on the palate. Great value medium bodied Italian glugger!

This blend of Semillon, Chardonnay and Chenin is a lovely, easy drinking wine. Full of ripe tropical fruits with clean, balancing acidty.

From organically farmed vineyards in the Colchagua Valley, this ripe and lush example of Chile’s own grape is delicious with roast meats and hearty winter food. Carmenere started its life in Bordeaux but proved too tricky to ripen there. It was a for a long time mixed up in Chile’s vineyards with Merlot –complicated as the two grapes ripen a good two weeks apart. More recently a bit of DNA finger printing has helped to identify and separate the two to mutual benefit. As the recently planted vineyards of Carmenere age their wines can only get better and better.

A vibrant, mouth-watering Chilean Chardonnay. A tangy citrus and tropical fruit palate is given some backbone with buttery, nutty notes. Very well balanced and a bargain at this price.

A satisfyingly supple Grenache from the Languedoc with plenty of attractive red fruit and blackberry flavours and a little whiff of white pepper. A great wine for pouring at a party but one that also copes well with a wide range of food – simple pasta dishes, roast chicken or even a picnic.

Succulent is the word used to describe the family of plants that the South African aloe tree belongs to. Succulent is also the word best used to describe Aloe Tree wines. The vines used to grow the grapes draw deep from South African roots to provide a true reflection of the earth from whence they came. This Chenin Blanc is a zesty and youthful white with a mélange of ripe tropical fruit, offset with hints of green apple and fig.

Produced by the Plaimont Co-operative in the South West of France, this light, crisp and refreshing white is a blend of Ugni Blanc and Colombard. Great just as an aperitif and very good with white fish too.

A juicy and supple blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with the local Tannat grape. Plenty of crisp and chunky fruit make this a good bet with tomato based pasta dishes, pizza and fattier meats like duck and pork. Made by the Plaimont Co-operative deep in the south west of France.
